Dash 9s Lead an Eastbound Merchandise Onto Fallbridge
Title:  Dash 9s Lead an Eastbound Merchandise Onto Fallbridge
Description:  Grade crossing on the North leg of the wye. For trip #3 i spent three seperate days railfanning, but due to light, in photography terms, it was more like 1.5 days. This is one of the few moving night shots that came out well enough to publish, this power was followed by one more H2 dash 9, and Santa Fe lettered Warbonnet of the same model.

Amtrak Cascades, Clear Signal North
Title:  Amtrak Cascades, Clear Signal North
Description:  Had a short conversation with the engineer while the train was stopped in the depot. He was very nice and says he much prefers the Amtrak GE locomotives over the EMD like this one, specifically due to less wheelslip.

The "Garbage Disposal" Gets a Crew Change
Title:  The "Garbage Disposal" Gets a Crew Change
Description:  What? Cant come up with my own nicknames for trains? It may not be very original or funny or anything, but to me the "garbage disposal" is just what i enjoy calling this train... one long double stack of containters full of trash, and for railfans who are "less then fond of" dash 9's, they could probably make the joke that its powered by two more pieces of it, since ive only ever seen it powered by two dash 9s. (not throwing myself in there though.)

Title:  P42DC AMTK#1 Leads Empire Builder, Train 28
Description:  Missed the number 1 while attempting to chase it on the Coast Starlight 14 but once it got into the 79 MPH zone, we lost the race, and never caught it... until it surprised us as the leader of 28.

Warbonnet Dash 9s Bring In Grain Train
Title:  Warbonnet Dash 9s Bring In Grain Train
Description:  I was very happy to see a duo of these beauties working by themselves on the head end of this Westbound "earthworm" train, even if to some railfans arent "real" warbonnets. Also putting my brother in the author credits for finding the stairs that aloud this picture. Thanks bro.

Warbonnet 681 Trails The 4704
Title:  Warbonnet 681 Trails The 4704
Description:  Just a little fresher paint, and on the newer models and I think some BNSF fans dream would come true, but until then, I'll enjoy every bit of the variety, especially when a head end looking like this roles on through. Also, this is my second time photographing BNSF 4704, the first was in Chemult, OR. on a long hot summer day where it was a DPU on the only train we caught after 8 hours. Paitence is a great virtue, but for railfans here in Vancouver, its completely un-needed. Note: BNSF 681 was partly wrecked still as ATSF 681 but was luckily repainted into the "updated" version of its original colors, instead of H2 as was expected.

My First C4 and Question to BNSF Engineers
Title:  My First C4 and Question to BNSF Engineers
Description:  My first ES44C4 seen here on the end of the grainer two warbonnet dash 9s were leading, just barely breaking the usual 3 GE DC motors (2 front, 1 rear) I usually see on these trains here. A 2012 build, shes still in her first year of operation. And to any BNSF engineers whove driven these, i was wondering whats your opinion on them? Good ride, traction, investment compared to the other ES models or any opinion in general. Thank you, would love to hear it.

Description:  The 2339 was here during my first trip (8/25/12, day after i helped move my brother up from my Springfield, OR. my home #1) and according to the other pics on this site, shes been here for years. At this time in October 2012 the 2339 which retains its old BN number, and was built as a Frisco unit, has been performing daily duties on the BNSF transfer into oregon.

Four GE DC Motors Lead Portland-Chicago Intermodal
Title:  Four GE DC Motors Lead Portland-Chicago Intermodal
Description:  As you can see by the sign this train is crossing 8th street. I did a little research and Google earth-ing, and found that this crossing was very recently protected by a rather interesting and rare pair of flashers, but as seen here, the gates are down and its long gone, and the trilights appear to be new as well. Nice video i found showing the old crossing for those interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oiia-V4sSRk ...while the replacement is not something thats gonna make any railfan happy, it is MORE than understandable why it was replaced with safer equipment, judging alone by the very high volume of rail traffic (a very good thing for railfans looking at the bright side).
