VULX X - Vulcan Materials Co |
Description: |
Built by GE in November of 1941 (#13169), this little switcher ended up at the Vulcan Materials plant in McCook, IL, during the early 1970's and still looking pretty darn sharp although it had no number assigned to it. Technically the "VULX" reporting mark is for the southeast division of Vulcan but VM, the correct mark, is not recognized here. This is a Jim Wozniczka photo. |

Here is another view of the little switcvher built by GE in November of 1941 (#13169). Although its history is not known, it ended up at the Vulcan Materials plant in McCook, IL, during the early 1970's and still looking good although it had no number assigned to it. Technically the "VULX" reporting mark is for the southeast division of Vulcan but VM, the correct mark, is not recognized here. This is a Jim Wozniczka photo. |

VULX XXX - Vulcan Materials Company |
Description: |
Built in January of 1948 (#8179) by H. K. Porter, Inc, for People's Gas & Coke, it ended up at the Vulcan Materials Company facility in Joliet, IL, in the late 1970s. No number was assigned to the unit. Technically it should be listed under the reporting mark of "VM" (not recognized) instead of the Vulcn Southeast Divison "VULX". This is a Thomas Lawson Jr photo. |

VULX XX - Vulcan Materials Company |
Description: |
Here is another small switcher, a Plymouth 30 tonner, that ended up at the Vulcan Materials Company. No history could be found on this one. Technically the reporting mark for this should be VM instead of VULX (for the southeast dvision of Vulcan) but it's not recognized here. No number appears on this unit. |
