GN 2-8-2 #3380 - Great Northern |
Description: |
Very nice b&w photo from the original negative of the beefy Great Northern 2-8-2 Mikado #3380. This loco was rebuilt by the Great Northern from their original build of 2-6-8-0 monster that proved to have too many problems associated with it. Speces - O-7 class, 69" drivers, 31" x 32" cylinders, a 210 psi boiler pressure, exerted 79,554 pounds of tractive effort and each weighed 348,000 pounds. All in the class were scrapped by the early 1960's. No photographer was listed for the negative but Jason Schaedler (see comment below) listed quite an informative comment on the photographer, Robert Graham, and the locomotive. The information is most sincerely appreciated, Jason. Thanks for your help. |
