C&NW Bi-Level long distance passenger train
Title:  C&NW Bi-Level long distance passenger train
Description:  Date approximate but likely a Sunday. This is a C&NW long distance passenger train arriving at the terminal in Chicago. Engines are E8A 5026B and F7A 4075C. It is not a commuter because it has two diesels, is headed into the station engine first (commuter were cab car first), and although hard to see, the fifth car has no center door because it is a Bi-Level diner with a false roof extension to match the other cars. The bridge carries the CTA Lake Street EL over the C&NW tracks and in later years was replaced with a through girder style.

C&NW Bi-Level Diner at Chicago terminal
Title:  C&NW Bi-Level Diner at Chicago terminal
Description:  Date approximate but likely a Sunday. Photo is a bit dark, but then again so was the C&NW train shed. This is Bi-Level diner 6953 on a train that had just arrived at the Chicago terminal. Probably the "Peninsula 400". This had been a single level car but had a high roof added to make it match the other cars.
