CB&Q 4-4-2 P-5 2565 |
Description: |
Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-4-2 class P-5 2565 at East Alton, Illinois, date and photographer unknown, print by Tom Klinger, Chuck Zeiler collection. The date and location are based on two other photos I have of locomotives with the same background, dated between June and August 1936. Number 2565 was built by Baldwin in 1904 (c/n 24705) as a class P-3-Comp (balanced compound) number 2709. It was rebuilt to a simple 4-4-2 in 1924, reclassed as P-5 and renumbered 2565. It was retired in June 1942. |
