Altoona Action. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 10 September 1951. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9797 and two more "EF" Class units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9797 was constructed in March of 1951. Partially visible at the far left is Juniata's 17th Street Bridge.

Sweetland. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by David R. Sweetland that was taken in Cresson, Pennsylvania, in July of 1960. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9797 and another "EF" Class unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD. #9797 is an EF-15A constructed in March of 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower.

Description:
Waters. Here is an original telephoto view that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad property in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-February of 1966. Shown here are the Locomotive Ready Tracks in East Altoona. Visible on the left is PRR engine #9797, an EF-15A built by EMD in 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. Also visible are other ALCo and EMD locomotives in front of the 17th Street Bridge, as well as the East Altoona Roundhouse and the venerable Water Tower in the distance.

Description:
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-June of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engine #9797 and two other "B" units whose numbers were not recorded. All were built by EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9797 is an EF-15A built in 1951. They are pulling a westbound mixed-cargo freight train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West.
