Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, on 13 October 1936. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3401, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in Juniata as an H-8SB during June of 1912, rebuilt as an H-9S in October of 1924, and retired by 1956 after 44 years of faithful service. Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, on 14 October 1954. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3401, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in Juniata as an H-8SB during June of 1912, rebuilt as an H-9S in October of 1924, and retired by 1956 after 44 years of faithful service. Note the giant Shamokin slag piles in the background!
