| This photo was taken in the curve about a mile east of the Espee's Lafayette Yard, where two branches connected with the main line of the SUNSET ROUTE. GP20E 4105 waits on the Alexandria Branch at Alex Jct. (milepost 145.3) with the Opelousas Turn, while rebuilt SW7 2294 is entering the main line at BR Junction (M.P. 145.1) with the BR -- the local which served the remnant of the branch which once went all the way to Baton Rouge. Both trains are bound for the Lafayette Yard. |
