GE-ALCo's "Freedom Train," #1 of 2, 1947         
Here is the first of two duplicate 35mm color slides by an unidentified photographer of General Electric's "Freedom Train" during its stop in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in September of 1947. In the lead is engine #1776, a PA1 built by the American Locomotive Company in August of 1947 and rated at 2,000 horsepower.
