This view has changed considerably since this photo was taken. The coaling tower in the distance was knocked down around 1984, and a new shop building erected, which serves today as a running shop and offices for NS. The yard tower behind the coaling tower was knocked down several years ago after being "off limits" for a long time due to structural issues. All the grass in the foreground was bulldozed up, an oil and stone access road to the shop and engine tracks build, and a modular office moved in roughly where the maintenance truck sits. And, or course, the U 23's are long gone, but GE's of a larger ilk now rule.

Oh, and while I'm at it, the bridge you're standing on here was replaced by a more standard steel and concrete structure maybe 1990-ish, on a much less severe alignment than the old bridge that had been here prior.
