| There was a westbound manifest moving up the mountain. From here, you can hear it way down in the valley around MP240 working upgrade and, after awhile, whistling for the sightseers at Horseshoe Curve. Now, the eastward signal for No.1 track had been standing at clear for awhile but, wouldnt you know (why dont apostrophes work on this site?), just as the westbound and my presumed catch of the day is getting closer, the sun is right, the leaves are lovely and all is right with the world.....an eastbound manifest shows. There cannot be more than a bare handful a day! As the eastbound consist rumbles past, the westbound passes on an inside track and that is that! As Dean Martin sang, "Aint that a kick in the head?" |
