PM 4-6-2 #717 - Pere Marquette  Contributor's Pick!       
Here is a very sharp looking with white walls and glossy boiler shell heading up a crack varnish this day. This 4-6-2 Pacific was built by Alco-Brooks in 1921. Specifics - class SP3, massive 77" drivers, 190 psi boiler pressure, 23x28" cylinders, engine weight of 243,000 lb, tractive effort of 31,067 lb. The class was off the PM roster by 1950. Unfortunately no photographer was listed for this photo.
