PRR 9683, EH-15, 1966
Horseshoe Curve-1966. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-May of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #9683 and #9777. Both locomotives were built by EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9683 is an EH-15 built in 1949, while #9777 is an EF-15A built in 1951. They are pulling an eastbound mixed-cargo freight around the Horseshoe Curve and down to Altoona and points East.
