PRR 4913, GG-1, 1962 Editors Pick!
Electrified. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Wilmington, Delaware, on 21 June 1962. Shown here is PRR electric engine #4913, a GG-1 built in Juniata during January of 1942. It has just pulled a southbound passenger train into the Wilmington Station and awaits orders to proceed on to Washington, D.C. This locomotive is presently on exhibit at the Railroaders Memorial Museum in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
