WIL-ALT-64. Here is an original photo that I took during a trip on Pennsylvania Railroad passenger trains from Wilmington to Altoona on 03 July 1964. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #5798 and #5874, Both were built by EMD. #5798 is an EP-22 built in 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #5874 is an EP-20 built in 1949 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. They are about to couple onto an 18-car passenger train heading to Altoona, Pittsburgh, and points West. (Note the duplicate "PRR" logos on the front door.) |
