Electrified. Here is an original photo that I took while riding a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train East of Newark, New Jersey, on 21 June 1962. Shown here is one of the train's Assistant Conductors guarding the rear of the train, delayed for more than an hour by a burning sailboat under the PRR's Hackensack River Bridge. Also visible are a three-car PRR commuter train on the left and some of Newark's taller buildings in the distance. |
