NS 39Q  Contributor's Pick!
At 2:35pm on Wednesday August 16, 2017, westbound mixed freight train 39Q crossed the Stone Bridge in Johnstown, Pennsylvania with NS #6920 (SD60E; Honoring Our Veterans unit), NS #9533 (C44-9W), NS #7254 (SD70ACu), NS #2631 (SD70M), and NS #6302 (SD40E). NS #6310 (SD40E) and NS #6301 (SD40E) were on the rear. The bridge is a seven-arch stone bridge spanning the Conemaugh River and was built by the Pennsylvania Railroad between 1887 and 1888. This bridge survived the massive Johnston Flood of 1889 and blocked debris caught in flood waters, which caught fire creating an inferno covering 30 acres.
