Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken at Sunnyside Yard in Long Island City, New York, in 1961. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "Pennsylvania No. 5940, Class L-6A, Sunnyside, L.I., N.Y., 1961." PRR engine #5940 is an L-6A (1-D-1) boxcab built by Lima-Westinghouse during May of 1934, rated at 2,500 horsepower, renumbered "4791" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger, and retired in April of 1968 after 34 years of faithful service. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Electric Railroading ~ Penn Central and Pennsylvania Lines" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (868-29).
