PRR 5520, T-1, 1951         
Rolfe. Here is an original photo by N. Rolfe that was taken at the Passenger Station in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, 4 November 1951. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5520, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built in Juniata during April of 1946 and retired in December of 1953 after just seven years of revenue service. Visible on the left is the northwestern corner of the Station's trainshed; on the right are some of the building constituting the PRR's 12th Street Car Shops. #5 of 6.
