ATSF 4-8-4 #3756 - Santa Fe         
Good looking 4-8-4 Northern, ATSF #3756, built by Baldwin in January of 1928 (serial #60332). Since its main line stretching over 2200 miles (Chicago to California), the AT&SF had a real need for excellent motive power and used the 4-8-4 Northerns in passenger service. The loco served for nearly 28 years before being sold for scrap to George T. Cook Company on 11/20/1956. Specs - 73" drivers, impressive 230 psi boiler pressure, 30x30" cylinders, engine wegiht of 464,700 lb, tractive effort of 66,000 lb. Unknown photographer

Marcus W General That's cool; you got a shot of one of these with their original 73" drivers. In 1941-ish, the class got new 80" boxpok drivers and a new frame, and were converted to burn oil. 3/18/2020 9:30:11 PM
