Here is page two of a 22-page booklet published by the Pennsylvania Railroad entitled "A Pictorial Review Of Progress On The Pennsylvania." It was issued originally in March of 1953. Photo Caption: "New and repaired freight cars rolling to service." Prominent here (L to R) are PRR engines #6816 and #9576. #6816 is an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in June of 1959. #9576 is a BF-15 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in April of 1949, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in August of 1964. |
