An eastbound Southern Pacific train was descending the Huey P. Long Bridge above the east traffic circle. The train was powered by GP9R’s 3774 and 3801, SD45T-2’s 9234 and 9246, and SD45 9110. The building on the right was the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad’s bridge administration building. It was demolished when the bridge’s traffic lanes were widened in 2006-2013, and a replacement was built next to the east end of the bridge at the Central Avenue grade crossing. |
