GCRY 239 idles in the yard at Williams. The unit was built in 1977 for Amtrak as an F40PHR, meaning it used parts from Amtraks SDP40F units, which were being phased out of service at the time. This unit used parts from SDP40F 544, and served with Amtrak for nearly 25 years before coming to Grand Canyon in 2003. |
