WR. Here is the first of three related images of photos by William H. Rau that were taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1892. In the foreground is the Pennsylvania Railroad's Kittanning Point Passenger Station and NK Tower. Note the interlocking where three tracks merge into two around the Curve. At the far left is the three-track overhead coaling wharf. In the center is one of Altoona's reservoirs. On the far side of the Curve is IA Tower. William E. Burket Collection. |
