Here is page one of a ten-page article by Alan B. Chesley & Tony Koester entitled "The Enduring GG1." It was published originally in the December 1975 issue of "Railroad Model Craftsman" magazine, page 52. Top Photo, Partial Caption: A pair of five-stripers at Union Tower on the classic Pennsylvania Railroad of yesterday recall an era that is as revered as it is gone." Photo by Don Wood. Depicted in the bottom photo is PRR engine #4800, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built by General Electric as number "4899" in August of 1934, rated at 4,620 horsepower, renumbered "4800" in November of 1934, and now on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. This is "Old Rivets."
