| While we had intended on moving out of Rochelle anyway for more train action, one of the main reasons we decided to move was because we wanted a good backdrop of UP MWGWG heading east back to West Chicago, as todays WGWG was featuring UP 1995, the Chicago and North Western Heritage Unit, on the front. The unit had been at IRM C&NW Days the weekend prior, and now had been bouncing between the MWGWG and the MBEBE. Sure enough, not long after the stack train, MWGWG came screaming east by the Creston grain elevator with a very clean UP 1995 on the head end! The last time I shot this unit was way back in 2012 in Nebraska, so it was neat to finally get to see it again, especially so clean! My Dad had seen it a bit more recently, as back in 2017 it lead a northbound on the NS through home while I was at school. Glad we both got to see it together on this trip! |
