KCS 3903
Once CN was completely clear of Dubuque, CP lined a northbound through town. This trip definitely has not disappointed when its come to great catches. A ballast train extra rolls north through town with a solo KCS SD70MAC on the front. Never heard the symbol for this one, but my guess is it was a BAL symbol of some sort. The Hotel Julien sits to the right of the train and made for a good object to frame the unique train with. I shot a ballast train similar to this one on my second visit here with my dad a few years back with a SD60 leading. A majority of the SD70MACs have been relegated to MOW or local service. Definitely a far cry from the trains they were designed to handle, but at least theyre still out running and not shards of metal.
