Description:
BUTTE MT Sept 26 1978 -- Burlington Northern GP30 2206 is idled by a nationwide railroad strike. EMD built the unit (s/n 28267) in April 1963 as Great Northern 3006 and delivered in simple Empire Builder paint. BN retired it on Dec 14 1988. In July 1989 was rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen as BN GP39M 2812 and became BNSF 2812.
