Case in point: K-4's 5439 and 3750 flank passenger 'Shark' 5783." #5439 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during March of 1927 and retired in April of 1958. #3750 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" constructed in Juniata as number "3750" in March of 1920, renumbered "1737" in 1956, and presently on display as number "3750" at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. And #5783 is a BP-20 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in November of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in November of 1964. William E. Burket Collection. |
