CB&Q F3 134D |
Description: |
Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad F3 134D westbound at Naperville, Illinois on April 1, 1964, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Sorry about the quality of the photo. I was 16, this was one of the first Kodachromes I shot. I learned to pan with the train after this. I used to caddy on the golf course in the background to help pay for this film. |

CB&Q F3 134D |
Description: |
CB&Q F3 134D eastbound at Naperville, Illinois on November 29, 1964, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Almost invisible past the signal bridge on the right side is excursion steam locomotive 4960 backing a fantrip to Aurora. I'm not sure of the occasion, but I have several photos showing 4960 and train in the siding at Naperville on this date. I do not have the flyer for this trip, but I have one for the previous Sunday (11/22/1964) for a trip to Rockford, and another flyer for a couple of Sunday's after this date (12/13/1964) advertising a trip from Chicago to Santa Claus Land (two hours west of Aurora), possibly Ottawa or Flagg Center, near Oregon, Illinois, where there was a wye to turn the train. |
